What Is Happening This February in London?
It may be the shortest month of the year, but we explore what’s happening in and around London this February. Whether you are on a budget or looking for family friendly activities to do in February half-term, we offer something for everyone!
1. Celebrate Chinese New Year
Celebrate the Year of the Tiger in the heart of Soho and explore London’s Chinese-food scene with the vast number of restaurants on offer throughout Chinatown. The Chinese New Year is based on the lunisolar calendar symbolizing the closing of the old year, marking the end of Winter, and welcoming in luck and prosperity into the new one.
This year the occasion falls on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 and typically lasts for 16 consecutive days.
2. Six Nations
Commencing Saturday 5th February, the Six Nations Tournament is a great excuse to explore some of London’s Sports bars and clubs in lively areas such as Fulham, Shoreditch, Islington, and Camden. The tournament will end on ‘Super Saturday’ later in March with England vs France concluding the tournament.

3.Orchid Festival
The annual festival celebrates the richness of Costa Rica, bringing to life the country’s landscape. You will be able to hear and see displays of native animals made from plants, including the native bird of Costa Rica. The iconic Princess of Wales Conservatory Pond will be filled with vibrant orchids and bromeliads. The festival commences the 5th of February for approximately four weeks.
4.Valentine’s Day in London

5.LGBT+ History Month
February is LGBT+ History Month, with a range of events taking place all over the City to mark the occasion. To celebrate, the British Museum in Bloomsbury is hosting a ‘desire, love and identity’ trail highlighting 15 different objects that have a connection with LGBTQ+ history. Plus, the display is free to view!

6.Light Festival at Battersea Power Station, Battersea
If you are missing the bright lights of Christmas, why not head to Battersea Power station to view six spectacular installations by artists from across the globe. The festival is free and running until the 27th of February.
